Feeling lost in direction after high school, I decided to pull from my knack for creativity. As a kid, I often lost track of time while drawing, crafting things, or dressing myself up. Yet, it wasn’t until my journey in the BFA that I could feel a deep sense of connection to what I do. Design has gifted me the space to understand who I am and why I create. Being a designer is finding humor in the world and sharing it with imaginative play. It is getting the honor to tell stories and form connections. It is an act of giving with impact—even if it’s just to one person. I want to climb the trees of the world with creativity and purpose—and hopefully be surrounded by passionate individuals like the friends that I’ve made in this program.
